Remmers Betofix KHB Mineral Corrosion Protection & Bonding Layer

Remmers Betofix KHB is a mineral, polymer-modified corrosion protection and bonding layer designed for use within professional concrete repair systems. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, Betofix KHB provides reliable protection to exposed reinforcement while also creating a high-strength bonding layer for subsequent concrete repair mortars.

Formulated with active anti-rust pigments, Betofix KHB helps protect reinforcement against corrosion and is particularly suited to concrete repair applications where concrete cover is 10 mm or less. It can also be used as a bonding layer on mineral building materials as part of the Remmers Betofix PCC/M3 concrete repair system.

Betofix KHB offers high tensile adhesion strength, is sulphate-resistant and is certified in accordance with DIN EN 1504-7 for reinforcement corrosion protection. The product is also subject to external surveillance by QDB and KIWA.

Application
For use as corrosion protection, Betofix KHB is applied as a slurry in two coats of at least 1 mm each, ensuring the reinforcement is completely covered. A waiting time of approximately 30 minutes is required between coats.

When used as a bonding layer, Betofix KHB is applied as a contact layer, with subsequent repair work carried out wet-on-wet within the processing time. The substrate should be clean, dust-free and capable of supporting the load. When used for corrosion protection, reinforcement should be prepared to SA 2; for other applications, SA 2 is specified.
